“Sorry Uncle Logan.”

“Jules, just put the movie in!”

“What was the rating on this thing?” Logan demanded.

“It says it’s rated PG.” Derek said trying to hide the fact he was wiping tears from his eyes.

“Uncle Julian…are you crying?” Olivia asked, eyes wide.

“No…I’ve just got something in my eye.” Julian responded, blinking the tears away furiously.

“She was a pretty princess!” Rina piped up.

“I like her better with her long, pretty, blonde hair.” KaCee stated. “Uncle Logan, could you grow your hair out like that?”

Derek chortled. “Yeah, Uncle Logan, would you? Would you please?”

“Daddy?” Olivia asked quietly.

“Yes, honey?”

“Was…was mommy a pretty princess too?” The room was still.

Derek smiled sadly. “Yes, mommy was a very pretty princess.”

“Did she have magic powers?” Rina looked up at Derek from where she was sitting on his lap.

“Your mommy had very special powers.” Julian answered. “She had the ability to make a room brighter just by entering it.”

“Really?”

“Really.”

“And just like her, all three of you are princesses.” Logan smiled gathering up Olivia in his arms.

“We are?” KaCee stared at him, her eyes sparkling.

“Very, very special princesses,” Derek added kissing the top of Rina’s head.

“Are you our princes?”

Julian laughed. “No, we’re your knights in shining armor.”
